Supablend Eggfood FAQ

How is Supablend eggfood quality assured?

Supablend eggfood is manufactured and packaged under strict conditions. We believe in our product and in providing the best for our birds, which is why we manufacture the ‘egg cake’ that goes into our eggfood completely from scratch, using fresh eggs (a superior source of protein), not powdered eggs that are used in a lot of commercial eggfoods these days. Our ‘egg cake’ is a quality product that is made specifically for use in our eggfood. This ensures that we always know exactly what goes into our product and can be confident that from batch to batch we will always deliver a consistent and quality product that can be depended upon.

How is Supablend eggfood best stored?

Supablend eggfood is best stored in it’s original bag rather than pouring into another container. The bag is not just a bag! It has been developed and tested specifically for packaging and storing our eggfood to ensure that the product reaches you in fresh condition. Storing in the bag (within an airtight container if you choose) is the best way to keep your eggfood fresher for longer.

All of our packages come with a best before date printed on either the bag or box – one year from manufacture. We have a very high turnover of eggfood and as such we typically supply eggfood within the first month of it’s manufacture date, which gives you the maximum shelf life possible.

Is Supablend eggfood suitable for Parrots?

Yes. Supablend eggfood is a great choice for all types of birds. Both our dry or moist formulas are suitable for parrots. We suggest mixing in their usual chopped fruit to the eggfood to provide a daily treat that will keep your birds in top condition.

What is the difference between Supablend Dry and Moist?

It’s in the name. The dry formula is our original and most popular formula. This requires mixing with water and soaking until the eggfood goes light and fluffy, prior to feeding. The moist eggfood may be more convenient for some users as it can be fed straight from the packet (although soaking with a bit of extra water will give a fluffier eggfood).

Is Supablend eggfood supplied in alternative packaging?

No. Whilst our very first bulk runs of Supablend were produced in a plain white bag for a limited period, our eggfood is now characterised by it’s unique and vibrant orange packaging with colourful birds. Anything else is simply not Supablend.

I’m currently using a different brand eggfood. How do I best switch my birds to Supablend?

You can offer Supablend eggfood to your birds directly. It is a very palable eggfood and is usually readily accepted. However, occassionally the birds can be a bit picky if they are not used to a particular formula. In this case you can mix in Supablend with your existing brand, increasing the ratio gradually until your birds are weaned onto the Supablend.

When do I need to offer Supablend eggfood to my birds?

We recommend that you offer Supablend eggfood to your birds all year round to keep them in top condition. As a guideline you should offer Supablend eggfood as ¼ of the daily ration 2 to 3 times a week to maintain condition. During the breeding period you should feed Supablend eggfood daily, if possible 2 to 3 times a day, according to requirements. From the time that chicks can eat independently, feed ¼ of the daily ration as Supablend eggfood daily. During the moulting period we suggest you feed ¼ of the daily ration as Supablend eggfood each day.
